A Stay Clean professional will walk you through the ASAM Criteria, a tool developed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine to evaluate addiction progression and to then recommend treatment options.
The ASAM Criteria is a collection of objective guidelines that give clinicians a way to standardize treatment planning and where patients are placed in treatment, as well as how to provide continuing, integrated care and ongoing service planning.

Policy should challenge, rather than enforce, cultural misunderstanding, stigma and discrimination about the disease of addiction.
Addiction policy and advocacy should respect and integrate the perspectives of people with addiction and their families.”
